Roller-Roller Coaster.

This work transforms the wheels of the roller skate that we used to ride on in our childhood into ceramics. When we were a child, we would bounce back up when we fell while riding on the roller skate. This reckless, yet delightful moments can no longer be found around.

I changed the wheels of the roller skate. By making use of the sense of touch, balance, sight, and hearing delivered through the soles, the audience can feel the forces and the movement applied to the wheels. This sensitive roller skate enables the audience to concentrate on the movement than before. A moment is created where two similar yet different experiences intersect; the individual memories of previous experiences overlap with the current experience presented by the work. While the audience is immersed in this moment, the work also creates an environment where the audience can observe other individuals trying to stay in balance.
